ALOT is MIA

Very few folks actually know "a lot" is two words. I try to never correct grammar because I often slip up; maybe you will take it as a helpful tip. Sorry, I've been out of the classroom too long: The teacher in me is coming out. Maybe I will post a tip or two of common mistakes on Tuesdays. Would that be bitchy?

  1. LMAO I love it! I'm forever correcting grammar; it's the teacher in me, too. Though, I often do use that, as if it is an actual word.

  2. I'm not positive, but I think I may be guilty alot (ha ha ha ha), but thanks for the advice, I hate when I have horrible grammar.....which I think in and of itself was wrong. I am done

  11. The misuse of "a lot" is a huge pet peeve of mine, too. I'm all for Tuesday Lessons!! Please find time to school everyone on the correct use of too/to (why is this so difficult?!) and also they're/there/their.

  14. I've never heard of "low country boil", but we have crawfish boils ALL the time in March slash April slash May! YUUUUUUM!

    Don't get any ideas though...I don't suck the heads. *gag*

    Also, those activia commercials are something else.

  17. It drives me crazy that "alot" isn't a word! esp since the meaning of "a lot" is so different from "lot". Time to give in and evolve :P

    I wish someone had warned me about Activia....I didn't quite get the concept until I tried it. Aiyaiyai!
